They say right in the press-release that the engine is scaleable and ready for the future, which means PS4. Besides, by the time I type this reply it's already a story that they have a PS4 version in mind. Looks like 1-0 me. lol jk.....kinda
Yeah, he deffinitely understands english. A couple times in this presentation Kaz points out he said something wrong and/or missed saying something, and tells him to say the right thing.
This may be Translator-San's last appearance, lol.
@darthv72
That's exactly what I think is going to happen. It's going to be the same exact game some time durring the PS4's second year, probably with cross-buy DLC for double-dippers, and probably even able to race online with PS3 gamers. The differences will be just cosmetic so it can play with PS3 gamers. Maybe some exclusive cars. Offline there could be differences like far more advanced A.I.
It COULD have more advanced physics obviously, but ...
I doubt it will be that long. As soon as GT6 is shipped, they'll probably start optimizing for the PS4 version of GT6 and release it some time in PS4's second year once there's an install base and the year 1 games can get some sales.
Then take a well deserved break, because I don't think the PD team as a whole has taken a break since GT5 development went into high gear. Kaz even said around GT5's launch GT6 development started as soon as 5 was shipped.
GT has always had the best physics on consoles anyway (aside from 2 games, Ferrari and SuperCar Challenge, but no one paid attention to those games anyway), but since the word simulator is pushed with GT, and with Project Cars having some really advanced physics coming to consoles, yeah....PD needed to step their game up with the tire and suspension physics modelling. And that's right where their attention went, so credit to PD for knowing where they're lacking.
And t...
TRANSLATOR-SAN !!!!!!
I see what the real point of this GT event was now. Not to announce GT6 and the new GT Academy, it was to give Translator-san a warm-up before E3. He was off today, should have had a warm-up on the material before thise event. Translator-san kinda pulled the energy out of Yamauchi-san's presentation.
But it's the game that matters. That said, what's the over-under bookies are giving on this game making it out in the pre-Chris...
That old Countach is looking pretty good for a standard car. I wonder how good it's going to look in game.
They CLEARLY say that the game is coming to PS3 because of the devoted install base on the console, but the engine is scaleable for "future events"...which means PS4 being put on the market. That's a slick way of saying an upgraded PS4 version will be coming once the console's install base can cover the huge cost of making a Gran Turismo game these days.
Scaleable probably also means it can be scaled back to get a smaller version of the game working on Vita ...
indeed. bubs for the info.
I'd hate to say I told you so, but since this is my favorite franchise ever, and SO many people with the "GT5 maxes out PS3" non-sense.......I think I'll enduldge myself and enjoy a nice big "I TOLD YOU SO" lol
HUGE upgrades in graphics. I've been saying things like "vastly improved particles" for months now, and guess what, even I didn't think we'd be seeing leaves flying around. I can't wait to see Autumn Ring with the F...
Wrong. Even though they are different types of games, when it comes to breakthroughs in hardware resource allocation, those things can be applied across the board to help in any game's development.
People like me who pay attention know GT5's engine was closed in early-mid 2008 when Prologue released. It was only scaled down from Prologue (prologue has better over-all graphics) to get everything working. Since GT5's launch PD has improved visuals to a certain degre...
Well IDC what anyone says, Forza just isn't there on the physics/handling. In that, it's just typical racing game fair. Meanwhile that is where GT shines, and that is the most important thing for racing games.
But I do agree that GT5, as great of a racing game as it is, and I still play daily after buying it Day 1 midnight launch, is very incomplete in areas other than handling/physics and variety.
Why only a handfull of rims that you only have a smal...
Holding back content to charge more for it IS wrong, you're right there. But true post-launch developed content is a great thing for a game you love. And PD is once of the many companies who do DLC the right way. They are continually creating cars and give them or sell them to us. They've given alot for free, you can even race on the DLC tracks for free in the seasonals. They didn't charge for a single thing until a year after the game launched, ok?
I WANT DLC in ...
I can't race in interior view, it's distracting and throws off the realism for me. Like, whose arms are those? I know they're not mine, so it messes me up. If I had an actual racing rig where I could have a real wheel and my real arms in front of the one in the game, then I could use cockpit view. I'll use interior offline sometimes just to see it, but to actually race hard, I have to use bumper cam or hood cam (GT5 doesn't have hood cam, I hope it's in GT6).

Hey!! Look!! Another one of those guys that literally make me belly laugh when I read them typing "GT5 maxed out PS3". GT5 is akin to Uncharted 1 in terms of how old it's engine is. GT5 was probably even in development BEFORE Uncharted 1. You CLEARLY aren't paying attention.
How could GT5 be maxing out PS3 when basically at this point, cross-platform 3rd party games have come out that in many ways look better than GT5. Shift 2 for example, while having proba...
As a fan of Sony since they got into this business, I can say that Sony reacted almost TOO fast. Makes me consider the old line: "Me thinks he doth protest too much.".
I think the fact that it's being taken down so fast might point towards it being a legit leak (though I honestly think most of Sony's "leaks" are leaked purposely by Sony themselves, which I love).
I think it's basically an incomplete Sony made trailer. It has Sony's fingerprints all over it, that's for sure. It just has that Sony-made-trailer feel. It's their exact production value and style. It looks incomplete to me in that pieces of E3 ga...
What the........?
Get rid of NASCAR and Karts? Are you out of your friggin' mind? If anything, I'd want NASCAR expanded with more proper NASCAR tracks like Bristol, Richmond, Atlanta, Martinsville and so on.
And Karts on GT5 are super-fun! Why would you want to get rid of that fun?
I find it very strange that you want to take out 2 of the best things to have been added to the GT franchise in 5.
I used to get screen tearing in GT5 until recently. I was just going through the menus for no real reason and I noticed a display mode option that was on "shapened" or whatever, I put it in another more and don't get tearing anymore. Though I've never noticed any significant framerate drops.
The other thing that bothers me, is that this article (and you as well) say the standard model cars were never upgraded. No offense but that is utter BS. The bodies on s...

I like these all pretty equally, even with 1's lack of story....it's just great, and kinda made better by 9, and 9 is made better by 1. It's an interesting circle those two games create.
